Why put my details on Research Connections?

We actively encourage you to register with Emerald Research Connections if you need to find collaborative research partners or if you would you like to showcase your work and have like-minded professionals contact you.

Research Connections provides the opportunity for researchers to present their own work and interests and meet other researchers for future projects.

We aim to help you:

• Promote your research and experience, develop your career and allow others to contact you.
• Quickly and easily find like-minded research professionals. You can search or browse by country, area of expertise, research level, research interests, date joined, and more.

How do I get my details on Research Connections?

To add your research details onto the database, just go to the Emerald Research Connections homepage and choose "Create your profile".

You only need to complete a single screen to add the details of your research. After confirmation that they have been successfully submitted, they will be sent for moderation. This usually takes about three working days and you will then receive a confirmation e-mail to let you know your entry is on Emerald Research Connections.

How do I best present my details?

Following the guidelines below will significantly increase the number of times you are contacted by other researchers in your field and will also ensure that your details are added to the Connections database as quickly as possible:

• Most importantly, make sure your e-mail address is correct. If your e-mail address is incorrect, you will not be contacted at all.
• Make sure you fill in all the required fields correctly. Incomplete or incorrect information in these fields will lead to being contacted by the Emerald Research Connections administrator. Your profile will not be added to the database until you have provided all necessary information.
• Fill in as many "Research interests" as possible. This will lead to being contacted more regularly, and by researchers in your specific areas of interest. Just having one "Research interest" such as "Marketing" will not make you stand out!
• Try to be gradually more specific with each "Research interest" you enter. Start with something quite broad and general in "Research interest 1" and try to refine your area of expertise in each subsequent "Research interest". Keep each "Research interest" short – somewhere between one and five words is ideal.
• Use the "Comments" box to add any further information you may wish to highlight, e.g. projects you are currently running, have completed, or wish to undertake, papers you have published, research funding you have available or are seeking to obtain, or simply a more detailed description of your specific area of interest/expertise.

How do I maintain my records?

Maintaining your entry on Emerald Research Connections is easy to do. In fact, all you have to do is contact us and we will amend or remove your entry as required. E-mail the Emerald Research Connections administrator at connections@emeraldinsight.com.

I need help with searching Research Connections

You can search or browse the database of reserachers seeking research partners quickly and easily. Use browse to quickly find researchers by subject area only. Use search to find more specific matches, e.g. based on Country, Subject area, Institution, Name, Research level/type, Research interests, or Date joined. You can also reorder the results of your searches by Country, Subject area, Institution, Research level/type or Date joined. Should you encounter any problems or require any further assistance, please e-mail the Emerald Research Connections administrator at connections@emeraldinsight.com who will answer your query.

Does Emerald offer research funding?

Emerald is proud to offer both research funding and doctoral research awards as part of its commitment to the academic research community. Emerald funds different research projects every year via the Emerald Research Fund Awards, while our highly prestigious Outstanding Doctoral Research Awards are run in conjunction with the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).
