United Kingdom, May 2008 – Emerald Group Publishing Limited is pleased to announce that the Baltic Journal of Management (BJM) has been accepted into Thomson Reuters’ Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), one of the major indicators of quality academic research.
This is a notable achievement for a journal in only its third year, and is testament to the high standards set by the editorial team. BJM provides readers with a fresh look at emerging management practices and research in the countries of the Baltic region and beyond. It is the only journal that actively encourages dialogue between Baltic management researchers and supports research from the region.
Editor of BJM, Dr Asta Pundzienė, adds, “BJM was born out of a common need for the research community in the Baltic region to consolidate and share their knowledge and build on the entrepreneurial spirit of the region. We are delighted to be accepted into ISI - the editorial team strive to work on the quality of the papers and encourage well-written articles with a focus on interdisciplinary, international and comparative standpoints on contemporary management issues.”
Coverage in Thomson Reuters’ Science Citation Index Expanded will begin with the first issue of 2008, and brings the total number of Emerald journals included in ISI to 38.
BJM was launched in 2006 as part of Emerald’s new launch programme, and has quadrupled its number of journal article downloads in the last twelve months, demonstrating the value of research in new and evolving areas. Published in association with the Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA), which has more than 50 members from 18 countries, it is dedicated to bridging East and West management research. At the BMDA annual conference, which was held in May of this year in Lithuania, the first Emerald/BMDA Borderless Management Research Award was presented – the author received a cheque for €1500, and the winning paper will be published in a future issue of BJM.
