The Electronic Library Editor, Dr David Raitt, to receive award at the Internet Librarian International Conference
United Kingdom, 3 October 2007 – Again this year, Emerald journal The Electronic Library is media sponsor of the Internet Librarian International Conference at the Copthorne Tara Hotel, London, 8-9 October.
Dr David Raitt, co-program chair of Internet Librarian International, has been Editor of The Electronic Library since the launch of the journal 25 years ago. On the occasion of this anniversary he will be presented with a "Leading Editor" award for his outstanding contribution to the publication and to the field of information studies.
The Electronic Library is a comprehensive source of information and knowledge on the applications and implications of new information and communication technologies, automation, user interfaces, networks and the web in all types of libraries, information centres and museums throughout the world. Dr David Raitt invites speakers and delegates at the Conference to submit manuscripts for publication in The Electronic Library. As part of the Emerald Management Xtra collection of electronic journals, The Electronic Library is available to a potential audience of over 15 million users world-wide.
Emerald will be at the event and continues to celebrate its 40 years in publishing. Richard Illingworth, Emerald Business Manager for the United Kingdom and Ireland, will be available in the "vendor show-case" area of the Conference to discuss subscription options to Emerald Management Xtra. Authors among the delegates are also invited to meet Eileen Breen, Publisher, to discuss contributions to Emerald LIS journals.
Internet Librarian International provides an opportunity for delegates and speakers to explore the whole range of issues and challenges that information professionals face today. The Internet Librarian International Conference 2007 runs from 8-9 October.
