United Kingdom, May 2009 – Emerald Group Publishing Limited is pleased to announce Dr. Wolfram Horstmann, Chief Information Officer for scholarly information at the Universität Bielefeld, as the winner of the second German Library Hi Tech Award. Prof Dr Michael Seadle, Editor of Library Hi Tech, will present Dr. Horstmann with the €600 prize during the 98th Deutsher Bibliothekartag, held Messe Erfurt AG, Gothaer Straße 34 ,Erfurt, Germany, 2-5 June 2009.
Delegates are invited to attend the award presentation at the Emerald stand number 2-534 at 12pm on Wednesday 3rd June, where cake and wine will be served.
The award recognises those who have made a significant contribution to the German Library community in the area of Technology. This year’s winner has been awarded the prize for his leadership in the area of e-learning.
Another Library Hi-Tech award has been running for a number of years in the United States, in association with LITA, the Library and Information Technology Association.
Throughout the event, Jennifer Hughes, Business Manager for Northern & Central Europe, and Sonja Pretis, Account Management Executive, will be on hand to answer questions about the recently launched eBooks series collections and other Emerald products.
Emerald’s two eBook series collections offer international content from a worldwide author base, with new content added each year. The Business, Management and Economics Collection includes 65 series titles and offers access to a selection of 380 volumes covering subjects such as strategy, accounting and finance, organizational studies and economics. The Social Sciences Collection complements and extends the current Emerald portfolio, with titles in sociology, education and psychology, adding over 180 volumes across 37 series titles.
Delegates are invited to participate in a prize draw at the Emerald stand to win a Sony eBook reader. The winner will be drawn at 1230 on Thursday 4th June at stand 2-534.
