Inaugural conference organised by the CAVAL Human Resources Group
Registrations are open for People in the Information Profession, the inaugural conference organised by the CAVAL Human Resources Group http://www.caval.edu.au/hrconference.html. The conference will be held on 15 and 16 October 2009 at Victoria University, Flinders Street, Melbourne, Australia.
The 2 day conference will broadly address the theme of reinvigorating the profession and include four streams of:
· Seek and Keep (Recruitment and retention)
· GPS to the Future (Planning and forecasting)
· Got what it takes? (Competencies, career and talent management)
· Leadership Development
The conference is suitable for information professionals from all library sectors across Australia, New Zealand and overseas and the Conference Committee has accepted papers both nationally and internationally that will educate and inspire across these themes. Selected papers will be published by Emerald in a themed issue of Library Management http://www.emeraldinsight.com/lm.htm
Sandi Givens, an award-winning author, conference speaker and workshop facilitator, will be MC for the 2 days. Sandi is a leading expert in women's development, teams & leadership and attaining work/life balance.
The conference dinner will be held at the Melbourne Aquarium on Thursday October 15 – the dinner is included in the conference registration and additional tickets are available for purchase.
