Special Issue: Performance Measurement & Management in the Third sector

The International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management aims to address new developments and thinking in productivity science and performance measurement and management including new techniques, approaches and related reflective analysis designed to improve individual, group and organisational performance.

The Third Sector includes non government and non profit making organisations such as charities, trade associations, credit unions and voluntary organisations. This call invites you to discuss the importance of the Third sector in terms of contribution to the economies of the developed countries.  This is an emerging area which presents itself with an opportunity to add to the body of knowledge in this field of performance measurement/management.

Potential themes, but not limited to:

• Empirical research within third sector context
• Third Sector case studies on performance measurement/management
• Performance frameworks appropriate for third sector organisations
• Comparative research between public, private and third sector organisations
• The effect of performance management on third sector organisations
• Application of specific frameworks and approaches to third sector performance research
• Cross disciplinary performance research in the third sector
• Third sector performance and inter-organisational networks and relationships
• Measuring performance at the interface between voluntary and non voluntary organisations
• Future performance challenges for third sector organisations
• Social enterprise performance and its role in the third sector
