Emerald launches Chinese Website
Download free supplement of Library Management in Chinese
United Kingdom, January 2009 – Emerald Group Publishing Limited is delighted to announce the launch of its Chinese language website. This Internet platform will host the Chinese edition of journals, information about the portfolio, invaluable author resources created specifically for Chinese researchers as well as news and events about Emerald activities in China. The site is also fully compatible with the rest of Emerald Management Xtra online resources in English.
To celebrate the launch of the new Chinese website, Library Management: China, an annual issue of LIS journal Library Management, is currently available for free download from the website. Library Management: China has an Editorial Board of eminent Chinese Librarians and Educators. The Call for Papers for the 2009 issue is out now on the Library Management (China) page.
Emerald’s first ever publication in the Chinese language, the Journal of Technology Management in China, will also soon be available on the website. It launched with two print issues in 2008 and will move to three issues, print and online, in 2009. Focusing on issues of technology management and strategy, the journal provides a unique outlet for current thinking and discussion of best practice.
Published in association with the Chinese Association for Management of Technology (CAMOT) and the Management of Technology Study Centre, based at UIBE in Beijing, the journal combines translated key papers from Emerald’s Journal of Technology Management in China, and original Chinese papers.
In a joint statement, the editors of the journal, Dr Richard Li-Hua from Salford University, UK, and Professor Xie Wei from Tsinghua University, China, commented: “we are very pleased to work alongside Emerald and to be involved with its first publication in Chinese. This initiative will have a momentous impact on the development of research in China by making high quality papers more easily accessible by students and researchers alike, across the country.”
Emerald has long been supportive of Chinese research and established a local presence in Beijing in the summer of 2007. As part of its ongoing new-launch programme, Emerald has announced several new journals specific to China, launching the Chinese Management Studies journal in 2007 and adding the Journal of Chinese Economic and Foreign Trade Studies, Journal of Chinese Entrepreneurship, Journal of Knowledge-Based Innovation in China and China Agricultural Economic Review in 2008.
