On the Horizon’s book reviews are extended essays of up to 5000 words and suitable to be consider as an academic publication. They are complete with abstracts, key words, footnotes and references and are accessible as a journal article. These reviews are included with regular issues of On the Horizon. In 2006, On the Horizon published a special issue of these extended reviews and plans to create a second issue.
On the Horizon readership and editorial board includes decision makers in academia and the corporate sector, internationally, as well as policy analysts and researchers focusing on the very broad area of education futures, particularly post secondary education and life-long learning. The readership is eclectic in its interests. We look for books of substance that warrant extended analysis and thought. These can include recently issued volumes as well as mature works worth revisiting.
We are looking for reviewers who can offer insights and analysis of seminal ideas where books reviewed represent an entry point for the discussion. We welcome suggestions for books and provide a list of current volumes that we have received from publishers. Interested persons can request to review a volume from our current list or indicate interest in reviewing a volume not present in that list. Please contact the editor:
