China's access into the World Trade Organization (WTO) has led to opportunities and challenges to international communities. However, the sophistication of technology transfer has resulted in some misunderstandings in the operations of international joint venture projects in China. The many failed international joint ventures indicate that, to some extent for foreign firms, operating in China is risky. Strategic decision makers, practitioners, and international organizations increasingly recognize the importance of practical know-how, based on sound theoretical and empirical grounds, for managing social connections, networks and collaborations, technology management, technology and knowledge transfer within China.
The journal's coverage makes it an essential resource for academics and managers worldwide who are engaged in the study or who are responsible for the strategic planning of technological investment. The journal provides current thinking on how competitive advantage can be achieved through the application of successful technology management. A forum for exchange of information and ideas among academics, researchers and practitioners who are interested in technology management in China. Valuable to strategic decision makers, practitioners, and international funding agencies and organizations in the West and in China.
JTMC is the only journal that focuses exclusively on technology management in China. The journal encourages theoretical and applied research papers which identify good practice, address the existing deficiencies in processes and assist in the development of the transfer of technology and knowledge.
Researchers, educators, senior practitioners in the areas of technology economics, research and management development, innovation management, technology management, technology transfer, technology and business strategy will find the journal of interest.
