The Baltic region has experienced rapid political and economic change over recent years. The challenges to managers and management researchers operating within the area are often different to those experienced in other parts of the world. The Baltic Journal of Management contributes to an understanding of different management cultures and provides readers with a fresh look at emerging management practices and research in the countries of the Baltic region and beyond.

Editorial Objectives

BJM is the only journal that actively encourages dialogue between Baltic management researchers and supports research from the region. The journal seeks to highlight the best practice and research of developed and rapidly growing countries in the Baltic region. It contributes to the development of solutions for contemporary management challenges.

Topicality

In recent years there has been a rapid growth in the economies of the Baltic countries. As a result, researchers have identified a need to take a more targeted and intensive management development focus and establish a virtual bridge between East and West management research schools. In so doing, the journal seeks to engender collaboration between different research cultures. BJM acts as a forum to encourage dialogue between East and West.

BJM is essential reading for both international academics with research interests in Baltic management studies and practitioners seeking alternative perspectives on Baltic management in practice. The journal:

• Acts as a forum for the debate and publication of papers which establish a virtual bridge between East and West management research
• Provides a unique opportunity to share the experience of transformation, rapid growth and managing organisations for stabilisation, which are key management challenges to the New EU Member states including Baltic countries
• Is in partnership with the Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA), which has 53 members across 16 countries.

Key Journal Audiences

BJM particularly encourages academics, researchers and practitioners from the Baltic region (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia as well as Poland, Russia and the other countries around the Baltic Sea) to share their experience, knowledge and practices with an international audience. Papers from the other regions of Europe and the rest of the world that focus on issues and research which will affect and inform management studies in the Baltic countries are also welcome.
