The 21st century is already being labelled the “Asia-Pacific century”. The Asia Pacific includes China, India, the “tiger economies” of the ASEAN region, as well as the Latin American economies, such that it is a mix of stunning growth and prosperity on the one hand, as well as under-development and poverty on the other. It is, therefore, a region rich in research possibilities, local and regional, unitary and comparative.
Launching in 2009, the Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Administration seeks to become a leading yet supportive forum for intellectual exchange among experienced and early-career researchers alike. APJBA also welcomes practitioner involvement with submissions that stimulate engagement between academics and practitioners interested in research in the area of business administration.
Coverage includes traditional business disciplines:
· Business Strategy and Policy
· Accounting and Financial Management
· Marketing and HR management
· Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management
As well as specific business themes:
· Quality management
· Innovation
· Knowledge Management
And interdisciplinary arenas and methods:
· Public Sector and Non Government Organizations
· Public Private Partnerships
· Diverse methods: positivist (survey, statistical) and interpretive (case and action research)
· Cross Cultural innovations
The Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Administration welcomes academically rigorous research papers from both established scholars and early-career researchers in all aspects of business administration in the Asia-Pacific. The APJBA also welcomes papers from practitioners in pertinent areas. While editors will accept some articles with other geographical orientations, the APJBA is primarily concerned with the Asia Pacific region.
Additionally, the editors also welcome submissions of high-quality thesis reviews from finishing or recently-completed doctoral scholars. These pieces should be an overview, of around 1000 words, of the main findings of a thesis which has already been completed and submitted. Overviews of this kind will only be accepted if they include a URL link to an online version of the thesis and if they are relevant to business in the Asia-Pacific region.
Experienced scholars are invited to submit 'Viewpoint’ pieces of around 2,000- 3,000 words. Viewpoint papers will be subject to an editorial review and not to the standard double-blind peer review process.
The Editors now invite contributions for potential publication in the first volume of the journal.
Submissions from experienced researchers are welcome as are contributions from early-career academics. One of APJBA's distinguishing features is that it provides an opportunity for less-experienced academics to work with an editorial team which acts in a mentoring role to enhance the quality of work seeking to be published. Each paper, apart from the Viewpoints (as indicated above), will be double-blind peer reviewed to ensure rigour and relevance.
