Special Issue - Financing and Managing Intangible Investments: Interdisciplinary Perspectives
Special issue call for papers from Managerial Finance

The International Journal of Managerial Finance (IJMF) invites paper submissions for a special issue devoted to interdisciplinary papers that address issues bearing on the financing and management of intangible investments. Papers are welcomed on policies and practices relating to managerial investment decisions for intangibles, systems for knowledge management, financial contracting that facilitates the generation and/or exchange of intangibles, issues in identifying and measuring intangibles for management and/or
financial accounting purposes; and wider implications for economic processes or social welfare of financing and/or management policies and practices relating to intangibles.
Topics
Topics of interest to this special issue include but are not limited to the following:
• The impact of different competitive strategies and capital budgeting approaches on managerial investment decisions and investment outcomes for intangibles.
• The role of systems for knowledge management in managerial investment decisions and/or accounting measurement policies and practice for intangibles.
• The impact of financial contracting innovations for delivering outcomes relating to intangibles including generating new intangibles and/or facilitating the exchange of existing intangibles.
• The impact of property rights and heterogeneity characteristics of intangibles on stakeholders' attempts to identify and measure intangibles for internal management and/or external financial reporting purposes.
• The implications of financing and/or management policies and practices relating to intangibles for allocative efficiency in the economy, for the dynamics of wider economic processes such as technological innovation, or for social welfare and the public good.
