Conference call for papers from Measuring Business Excellence

Intellectual Capital in a Complex Business Landscape, Matera, Italy – 24th-25th June 2010

Purpose and background 
The 5th International Forum on Knowledge Asset Dynamics aims to encourage discussions about intellectual capital research and management practices for addressing complexity, uncertainty and changes of today’s business landscape. Nowadays private and public organizations have to face uncertainty, crisis, change, turbulence, and high competitive pressure. In this context it is critical to understand the role of intellectual capital and particularly what are the key intangible and knowledge assets to be developed and managed in order to deal with the fluidity of business. This also involves the understanding of the approaches, models and tools for assessing and managing intellectual capital to support the renew and the development of new business models aligned with the evolution of the competitive scenario.

Style
The International Forum on Knowledge Asset Dynamics - IFKAD 2010 represents one of the leading events in the research and management of Intellectual Capital, Intangible Assets and Knowledge-based development. It is an opportunity for debating and exploring managerial and research cutting-edge insights at the basis of companies, institutions, clusters, regions and nations value creation patterns. The Forum is structured in plenary sessions with keynote speakers, round tables with academics, practitioners and policy makers and parallel sessions. The event is seeking to stimulate a conversation between presenters and participants in order to create a learning context and experience.

Location
The IFKAD 2010 location is Matera, a beautiful town located in the Basilicata region in Southern Italy. The ancient part of Matera, named Sassi, represents a unique example of a cultural tradition and civilization which stretches back to the Neolithic age and it is considered one of the most enchanting places in the world. In fact, the old town of Matera is listed in the United Nations World Heritage list of cultural artefacts worth preserving at all cost.

Submission details
For author guidelines and online submission procedure, please visit the official website  of the forum: www.knowledgeasset.org/IFKAD.  All papers will undergo a double blind peer review and all accepted paper will be included in the Forum proceedings. Following the Forum, selected best papers’ authors will be invited to resubmit their papers for inclusion in a Special Issue of international journals. In particular, Measuring Business Excellence will publish a special issue of selected and reviewed papers.
