Special issue: Developing enterprising individuals
Special issue call for papers from International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour & Research

Acknowledging Gibb’s call for a new approach to the study and teaching of entrepreneurship, and recognising wider societal needs for enterprising individuals, this call for papers encourages submission of conceptual, empirical, survey- and case-based papers around the topic of developing enterprising individuals. Abstracts or approaches before the deadline are welcomed, and the full paper should be sent by 31 January 2010 to Dr Kelly Smith, University of Huddersfield, k.smith@hud.ac.uk.
Details of the Call
This call for papers encourages submission of conceptual, empirical, survey- and case-based papers, which explore, question and review the topics around this issue, including but not limited to:
- The societal implications of entrepreneurship seen in community terms
- The distinctions between entrepreneurship and enterprise education, entrepreneurs and enterprising individuals – if these exist
- Whether enterprise education encourages innovation and creativity, prepares the individual for change and is accessible to groups underrepresented in enterprise activities
- The development of a curricula to develop enterprising individuals as a core curricula or dedicated programmes both within and across faculty boundaries
- The links between enterprise and new technologies and impacts on the wider curriculum
- The results of enterprise education, feedback and career trajectories
- Initiatives and programmes to assess the impacts of enterprise education
- Enterprise and entrepreneurial activity within employment and the public sector

Publication is scheduled for a special issue of the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour & Research in 2011.
