Journal of Science and Technology Policy in China


The Journal of Science and Technology Policy aims to give extensive and in-depth coverage of all issues relating to science and technology policy in China. In particular, the Journal seeks to publish both qualitative and quantitative research on the impact of China’s investment in research and development, and how such activities are affecting the world beyond its borders, from national governments to universities and, in some cases, whole industries.

Publishes

The Journal of Science and Technology Policy will publish original papers, literature reviews, empirical studies, theoretical frameworks, case studies, and book reviews or general views within the scope of China’s science and technology policy.

The research section of the Journal will serve as an outlet for scholars and practitioners both researching and implementing science and technology policy in China. The Journal will therefore consider any high quality academic research article in the field of Science and Technology Policy and Strategy relative to China.

The academic debates section of the Journal will carry an academic discussion on science and technology issues in China and East Asia, with the aim of linking theory and hypotheses with empirical strategy and policy. This section will consider both invited pieces as well as contributed pieces.

The coverage of the journal includes, but is not restricted to:

• Science policy
• Technology strategy
• Science and technological capacity building
• R&D management and strategy
• Evolutionary/Schumpeterian economics
• Innovation system(s) of (national, regional etc.)
• Technology management/policy/strategy/evaluation
• Innovation management/policy/strategy
• Knowledge management (creation, transfer, exploitation etc.)
• IPR management and licensing
• Product and process development
• Specific industrial policy/developments/clusters
• Globalisation and the role of multinational corporations
• Policy design
• Policy implementation
• Policy evaluation
• Industrial Policy
