My own undergraduate experience was as an engineer. I then worked as a teacher of science in schools, while studying Comparative Education. In 1981 I became a lecturer in higher education, and have taught a wide range of subjects including education, business and management, and engineering. I have worked with many postgraduate students and postdoctoral research fellows whose first language is not English.
I am Chair of the World Education Fellowship (GB Section), and a former Editor of New Era in Education, the international journal of the World Education Fellowship. I am on the editorial board of Compare, the journal of the British Association of International and Comparative Education. I have published extensively in the areas of Education and Policy Studies, and have acted as a reviewer for a number of journals and funding agencies.
As a teacher, I am interested in helping colleagues to be able to express their ideas as clearly and effectively as possible. By working with other colleagues from other areas of specialisation, I will be able to offer support to authors from any discipline.
