I specialize in language editing in the area of Internet Technology (IT). A graduate of University of Toronto, from 2001 until January 2008 I was responsible for all of the publications of TERENA, the Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association – http://www.terena.org/publications/

As TERENA Conference and PR Officer, I have edited all of the research papers selected for publication in special TERENA Networking Conference (TNC) editions of recognized, peer-reviewed journals. In 2006, a special edition of Campus-Wide Information Systems (Emerald Publishing Group, Volume 23 Number 4, 2006) included five papers and a guest editorial: http://www.terena.org/publications/campus-wide.php.

Emerald published selected papers from the TNC 2007 in two publications. There were six papers and a guest editorial published in Campus-Wide Information Systems (Emerald Publishing Group, Volume 24, Number 4, 2007), and eight papers and a guest editorial in Internet Research (Emerald Publishing Group, Volume 17 Number 5, 2007).

Through my work organizing the programme for eight TERENA Networking Conferences, I am well known in the research and education networking community in Europe and have worked closely with the authors of selected papers. Noteworthy is a special acknowledgement from the authors of a paper published in Computer Networks (Elsevier, Volume 37 Issue 6, 2001, p. 799).

I corrected the proofs for the editors for three publications of the TERENA project, Guide to Networking Resource Tools: Internet Users (Addison Wesley, 2000), Internet Users’ Reference (Addison Wesley, 2002) and Internet Users’ Research Guide (Pearson Education, 2004).

TERENA publications, including technical reports, the IP Telephony Cookbook, the SERENATE Reports and the TERENA Compendium are usually written by multiple authors from many European countries. Generally, the text is written in an interesting combination of Shenglish (Euro-English), tech-speak and Brussels-speak. For most of these authors, English is not their first language and, as researchers and scientists, writing is often not their best attribute.
