Emerald benefits


Emerald Group Publishing Limited offers a range of benefits to its employees. These include:

Annual holiday

Entitlement begins at 22 days and increases up to a maximum of 27 days, with 2 additional days also awarded over the Christmas period each year, and bank holidays in addition.

Profit related pay

A profit related pay scheme is in operation where a proportion of the profits are shared annually with all employees.

Pension scheme

The company has a non-contributory group personal pension scheme where employer contributions begin at 3 per cent of basic salary, and increase to 6 per cent on completion of 12 months service.

Life assurance

A life assurance scheme is in operation whereby in the event of death a lump sum equal to 2x current salary will be payable to a nominated beneficiary.

Company sick pay

The company operates a sick pay policy which increases in line with length of service.

Permanent health insurance

All permanent employees are included in Emerald’s non-contributory group long-term sick pay protection scheme, following completion of 2 years service. In the event of long term illness employees may continue to receive up to 75 per cent of salary until they can return to work.

Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay

Emerald enhances maternity, paternity and adoption leave above the statutory minimum.

Childcare vouchers

Childcare vouchers are available to working parents under a salary sacrifice scheme.

Season ticket loan

Emerald offers employees an interest free loan for the purchase of annual bus or train tickets.

Cycle to work scheme

Emerald offers employees the opportunity to enter into a salary sacrifice scheme where tax and national insurance savings can be made on the purchase of bicycles and accessories.

Lifestyle benefits scheme

The lifestyle scheme offers a range of savings on every day purchases from high street stores, holidays and weekend breaks in the UK and abroad, and leisure time activities.

Employee Assistance Programme

The EAP offers both a counselling service and an advice and assistance helpline to all employees.

Training and development

Investment in learning and development is a high priority and opportunities are available to participate in internal initiatives such as our Emerald Academy or MA International Business.
