Emerald Announces Winners of 13th Annual Citation of Excellence Awards
Emerald Management Reviews honours top authors of 2008
United Kingdom, May 2009 - Emerald Group Publishing Limited is delighted to announce the winners of its 2008 Citation of Excellence Awards. Now in their thirteenth year, these distinguished annual awards recognize the 50 outstanding articles published by the top 400 management journals in the world.
Each year the Emerald Management Reviews Accreditation Board, comprised of management experts from industry and academia including Cary Cooper, Philip Kotler, Darrell K. Rigby, and B. Joseph Pine II, selects the world's top 400 management titles. Independent subject experts then make a thorough and rigorous assessment of every article in each of these journals and, each year, 50 outstanding articles are singled out for a Citation of Excellence Award. Authors of the winning articles receive an official certificate and badge to display on their work. The award brings with it peer recognition and, frequently, increases in research funding.
"A key feature of these awards is the unique way in which the Emerald Management Reviews database works. Over 15,000 article reviews are added annually, so being singled out as one of the top 50 is quite an honour," said Debbie Spurgeon, Emerald Executive Editor. "For an author of a management research paper, receiving a Citation of Excellence Award represents one of the highest accolades that can be achieved."
